Food and Drink
We’ve not ironed out the finer points yet but the plan is:
- A Ploughmans early afternoon – there’s gonna be cheeeeeese.
- Evening – something hot – tasty pots of food, crusty bread, maybe some jacket spuds.Possible BBQ. We’re not sure. What I can tell you is that best man Martin is knocking up a phenomenal pork stew for the evening made from his very own reared pigs.
Can people please help a bit by bringing their own plates, bowls, knives, forks and so on. Note there are washing up facilities on site.
The rest of the time – you’ll need to feed yourselves. The pub can do breakfasts – book that with your camping. Morrisons has a cafe and is round the corner. Town is about a mile gentle stroll where I would recommend the Flying Dutchman cafe in Corn Square for day time (not Sunday), the Italian restaurant on High Street, the White Lion at the bottom of Etnam Street, the Jalalabad curry house on Etnam Street and Wetherspoons in Corn Square.
That’s easier. Sue and Steve from The Barons Cross plus local brewery Mayfield are running an outside bar from Saturday midday to 1am Saturday night.
So that’s normal pub drinks plus local real ale and cider – oh yeah!
Please respect Sue, Steve and Mayfields by drinking only booze bought from the bar whilst in the party field during the Saturday. These are good people trying to make a living and helping us throw a good party.
We’re doing the toasts with cider not champagne by the way.
